This course trains supervisors on how to recognize the signs, symptoms and performance indicators of drug abuse and alcohol misuse. This is required training under DOT regulations for supervisors of safety-sensitive employees.
Our Reasonable Suspicion Training for Supervisors course includes the physical, behavioral, speech and performance indicators of likely alcohol misuse or controlled substance use. This course will prepare supervisors for determining whether or not reasonable suspicion exists and what to do when they suspect it. DOT regulated companies are required to have supervisors trained for reasonable suspicion determinations.
A certificate of completion is always generated at the completion of the course.

FMCSA: A Supervisor’s Guide to Reasonable Suspicion Testing - Online Training.
This course meets the supervisor training requirements of DOT 49 CFR Part 382.603. This training is designed to enable a supervisor to determine whether reasonable suspicion exists to require testing.

The first chapter of the course provides a brief overview of the DOT and FMCSA drug and alcohol testing requirements as they pertain to supervisors. Subsequent chapters provide specific training on signs and symptoms, prescription drugs, a confrontation process, information on the reasons for testing, situations that constitute a refusal to test, a chart of drug and alcohol retention times in the body and a list of community helplines.
